Science & Curiosity

Science-literacy tests, thinking-style reads, and the how-would-you-figure-this-out puzzles that separate curiosity from a Google reflex.

About the archetypes

Science literacy is not the same as scientific thinking. The quizzes here cover both. The literacy pieces test what you already know. The thinking-style pieces test how you'd approach a question you've never seen.

The archetypes group people by whether they build models from data (empirical), reason from first principles (theoretical), work through analogy (associative), or hold multiple contradictory ideas at once until one resolves (probabilistic). Most working scientists blend all four. Most non-scientists lean hard on one and don't know they do.
